Music that came to me from my mom or dad, friends, the radio, or the TV, not necessarily life-changing, but each of these albums/artists were ones that stand out from my childhood, and some laid the groundwork for music, some didn’t but still showed me the path of leading LIFE in a matured way.
I am Owais Nabi from J&K, India which is called ‘Heaven On Earth’. I am the founder and drummer of Melodic Thrash Metal band FORSAKEN. I have been playing drums from last one and half years. I haven’t attended any drum classes or any sort of online lessons. Life is all about learning and developing skills, so is my drumming. I am a software engineer. I completed my B.E. from BMS College and I am working at Tata Elxsi Ltd.
Although I am influenced by many wonderful artists around the world like Mike Portnoy, Gavin Harrison, Steven Wilson (for his passion, hard-work and skills which makes him unique), Neal Peart, Dave Lombardo, Nick Menza, Martin Lopez, Gene Hoglan, Chris Adler, Marco Minneman etc., but person who changed my LIFE and the sole reason for enhancing my skills is Mr. MIKE PORTNOY, My Godfather.
Apart from a metal fan and avid follower of hard rock music all over the world, I love listening to Sufi music and a big fan of Late Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and I am trying my hands on Tabla. I also follow hindi rock music from our neighbouring country Pakistan. I am a fan of bands like Junoon, Strings, Noori etc.
