Kittie Starts Recording Follow-up to ‘In The Black’
This week Canada’s veteran metal mistresses, Kittie, have returned to the studio to lay down tracks for their sixth album. They will be bringing along producer Siggy Meier who helmed Kittie’s 2009 In The Black CD.
The band has holed up at Beach Road Studios in Goderich, Ontario, Canada where they will record what vocalist Morgan Landers considers to be the most soul scouring record she’s had to write for in her 15-year career. According to the band’s Facebook page it’s their most aggressive as well: ”Fairly positive this is the most pissed-off-sounding record we have ever had!”
Morgan Landers spoke to Noisecreep’s Amy Sciarretto confiding the new record ”contains some of the most difficult and personal subject matter I have had the pleasure (or displeasure) of writing.”
Back in February she wrote of the songwriting process on her Twitter page: ”This is proving to be the most difficult album I’ve ever written. Our story, so complex and tragic…Where do I begin?”
Morgan says there are 11 songs written for the new album, which is planned for a summer release through eOne Music.
The band is also video taping the recording process to share with fans. Said Morgan’s sister, drummer Mercedes, “Just so you know we will be video taping everything!!! You guys will get a full on view of us recording this time around!”
Kittie has also created a special Facebook page for fans who would like to see a documentary made about the band. Just click here and LIKE the page.
The band has been posting photos vis Twitter the first couple of days in the studio.
